I had watched an old movie recently. At first I had doubt
about watching it as it is a black & white film and sounds really
boring. But it turns out this film does catch my eye.
12 Angry Men is a 1957 film which tells the story of one lone
juror (Henry Fonda) who holds out against the other eleven members of
the jury because he is not convinced that the defendent is
guilty. Gradually, Fonda convinces every man on the jury that the
defendant’sguilt was not conclusively proved to convict him. He actually struggles
to fight against each one’s stereotypes and prejudices. Thus 12 jurors
debate and argue to decide the guilt or innocence of a teenager accused of
murdering his father.
It is remarkable as the film is almost entirely set in one room for
around 90 minutes and yet holds the viewers attention. The acting is
magnificent as the 12 actors are essentially the movie. I am
so impressed that it does not use any fancy plots or effects, but only
the talents of actors.
If you like watching the courtroom drama, you should not miss out this
one. It is a brilliant script that can keep you intensely watching a
movie.
